So in July I was living in the apartment by myself for a few weeks until my roommate got back, right? Like me, she was looking for a job, and she actually got one that she went to college for--a teaching job! However, she's teaching three grades with a total of about eight students, in a tiny little town in Nebraska called Basset, which is about a four hour drive away from Omaha. Needless to say, she moved out, took all her furniture, and I was left with a bed, computer (which I finally got hooked up to the internet, YAY), desk, small TV perched on Rubbermaid containers, and college moon chair. I didn't have any real chairs or couches, or end tables (I did have a small coffee table), or even a dining table and chairs. Nor did I have a job.
However, right when I got back from the Booe family reunion in Madison, Wisconsin (which was actually a lot of fun), I got two calls for job interviews. One was at Barnes and Noble (although it was for working in the café rather than actually with the books), and the other was for Bag 'N Save, a grocery store. I thought the interview for the B&N job went better than the BNS one, although I would have preferred the BNS job because it had better hours. (Thirty five--not quite full time, so no benefits, but still a decent amount.)
To my surprise, though, I got offered the Bag 'N Save job.
Then, about a week and a half ago, my parents came up to visit me, brought me more furniture (including a recliner and a dining table/chairs), and then after Dad had to go back to Columbus because he had to work, Mom took me shopping and bought me, well, just about everything I'll need.
And you know, not that sharing living space with Pam was bad, because it wasn't... but God, do I love living by myself. If I ever seriously contemplate marriage, somebody smack me upside the head, will ya?
So everything's going pretty well! I haven't been paid yet, but I should be getting paid on Friday... I hope. I need money.
On Saturday I had my first graduate school classes! In the morning I had Leadership and Management in Libraries and Information Agencies (what a mouthful), and in the afternoon I had Introduction to Information Technology. I think the classes should be doable for me. The bulk of the work is online--we only actually meet in class around five times the semester. And those are always on Saturdays, and when I got my job I specifically said I can't work Saturdays, so that won't conflict. So yay for being a student again.
I do have a lot of work to do for those classes, though, plus my work schedule and actually taking care of my apartment, sooooo... not that they were ever really officially open (or closed), but requests are now closed. Sorry about that, especially to the people who had requests waiting, but in addition to having no time, I also haven't felt like drawing for a long time. I've been more into writing fanfiction when I find the time, because I currently have three unfinished fanfics (for three different fandoms) that, when finished, should be multi-chaptered. I'd like to finish at least one (preferably all) of them, and make room to start new ideas.
Have a great September, everyone, and again I'm sorry for not being around here as much, but it can't be helped.

I can imagine that the kids run the house! Isn't that the way it always goes?
